Rotating Offline Storage — keeping backups on your computer
Multiple storage devices, if you keep your backup drive on your computer, a virus or intruder can mess it up… and perhaps more likely, you can screw it up… but it is still a good idea to have a backup volume on your computer, because it is much less likely to be accidentally unplugged.
Restoring files — copying files from a backup to a production system can be confusing. it is possible to copy files the wrong way. Its possible that the file on the main system is better than the copy being restored (new data added). It is a good idea not to overwrite the file in production, or make another backup of it to help figure out how it got corrupted.
